DID YOU KNOW:
 there are two trips planned? A needs assessment trip in 2011 starting March 12th and ending March 27th and the medical mission trip in early 2013.
 that on the needs assessment trip our emissaries will meet with the Emuhaya Group of the Disabled and the leadership of the Mercy Home orphanage for girls to assess medical needs?
 That the first trip will be under the supervision of Pastor Della Fahnestock?
 That Pam Girvin is chairing the Kenya Medical Mission Committee?
 That the committee members are Bob & Tina Uberti, Cheryl Vaclavik, Maureen Whitely, John Langley, Winnie Kowalik, Glenn Shaffer, Bill Taylor & George Krone?
 That the committee is planning several fundraisers during 2011 to help fund this mission?
 That the first fundraiser is a Valentine’s Dinner on February 12 in the SS auditorium? (You will be hearing more about this in the weeks to come)
 That our participants will cross the equator several times during their trip?
 That there will be a spiritual emphasis on the mission trip?
 That the committee is working on a budget for the 2012 trip already?

 That the Medical Mission Trip was a vision Pastor David shared with the Mission and Outreach Committee over a year ago?
 That the participants will probably eat ugali during their trip? (Remember to ask them when they get back!)
 That the committee believes the needs assessment trip will be most successful if at least one participant has a medical background?
 That we have two tentative volunteers to go on the needs assessment trip but neither has a medical background? (Did you know that Pastor David is one?)
 That if you have a medical background, there is still time to sign up?
 That John the Baptist, when he was in prison, sent two of his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the one, or should we look for another?”
 That the committee would ask you, if you have a medical background,
“Are you the one or should we look for another?”
 That St. John’s will commission two individuals during the worship service on March 6 to go on the needs assessment trip?
 That the Kenya Medical Mission Committee will meet next on Wednesday, February 9 at 7:30 pm and that anyone is welcome to attend?
